About This Spot

Stepping into Sammy's on Broadway in Fargo feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood spot where time slows just enough to savor the simple pleasure of good company and even better pizza. The space carries a quiet, unassuming charm — vintage touches invite a nostalgic pause, while the steady hum of conversation and the soft clinking of glasses create a warmly familiar backdrop. Here, moments unfold at an easy pace, making it clear that this isn’t just a place to grab a quick bite, but a spot to settle into the rhythms of daily life and shared stories.

The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, balancing the unpretentious spirit of a classic mid-century pizzeria with the friendly buzz of locals and families gathering around well-worn tables. It’s a kind of gathering place where the anticipation builds as fresh pies slide from the oven, their aromas weaving through the air with a quietly mouthwatering invitation. The thin crusts, cut into familiar squares, offer a comforting canvas—whether topped with spicy pepperoni, savory sausage, or the distinctive tang of Canadian bacon and sauerkraut—that speaks to tradition without feeling stale.

Sammy’s welcomes all kinds of guests, from downtown visitors catching a show to families seeking a casual break filled with genuine warmth. The attention to straightforward, satisfying flavors and the steady consistency can be felt in every slice, grounding the experience in something authentic and familiar. Amid the soft chatter and clatter, there’s a subtle respect for the unflashy, the well-made, and the quietly enduring.

Beyond the pizza, the little touches—the cold drinks on tap, a root beer float for a sweet finish—anchor the visit in simple joys. Whether you’re escaping a restless afternoon with kids or seeking the kind of local spot you return to time and again, Sammy’s holds a comforting promise: a piece of Fargo’s heart baked fresh and served with a side of easy-going hospitality.

So we were at the Broadway fashion show today. Whole family, two boys and one of their friends (all ages 7 to 10). They were honestly getting bored and restless... and then a man with a pizza showed up to save the day!!! Everything happened quickly and although I got out a small "Thank you," it wasn't enough - so I'm here to up the ante on that "Thank you!" Not only is Sammy's pizza deliciously awesome, but the owner (unsure if that is who it was) is also awesome as they had to walk a block to drop off a free pizza (mistake or wrong order)! I just wanted to make sure I conveyed the gratitude we had! 5 star pizza - 5 star dude!

this place rules.. we were drawn in by the old school pizza crust whiff and not disappointed.. the pizza is unique, a tasty, thin twisted crust with an excellent array of toppings..the decor is vintage but super clean, a real frozen in time feel.. really appreciated the simplicity and subtle attention t detail.. a deep unpretentious respect of classic mid century pizzerias .. if I ever get back t Fargo I’m coming here again

The pizza was good. The service was good. The bathrooms were clean. We went on a Friday around 12 and didn’t have to wait to be seated. Food was served quickly. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. I just personally felt the sauce was missing flavor and pepperoni pizza was very limited on pepperoni. Overall, wasn’t a bad experience.

Sammy's is my must have pizza while visiting Fargo. Pizza has thin crust, cut into squares, with the perfect amount of sauce. Restaurant is rustic and quaint, close to the renowned Fargo theater.

There is a lot of debate about the best pie in Fargo. And well this is it hands down, there is not frills and fancy this is traditional Pizza made fresh, and hot and consistent time and time again. If your downtown and looking for the best pizza try Sammy's you won't be disappointed. Update: if your still sleeping on Sammy's you have failed yourself this place is amazing, fresh homemade everything GET HERE!!!!!!!

Great little simple Pizza Joint. Nothing fancy just pizza and pop and breadsticks and beer. Affordable and delicious and definitely taste different and better than the bigger pizza chains.
